On the occasion of Baloch Women’s Day, we acknowledge the immense sacrifices made by Banuk Karima Baloch for the Baloch national cause. She played a pivotal role in involving the women of the nation in political action and the national struggle. Her efforts to empower women and enable them to participate in the national cause while confronting colonial injustices in society remain a source of inspiration.
Karima made significant contributions to the national cause on multiple fronts, including leading BSO AZAD during a period when many cadres of the organization were killed or abducted during a brutal crackdown by the enemy. Her unwavering dedication to the Baloch national struggle and her ability to lead in times of crisis made her a distinguished figure in the Baloch freedom movement.
She inspired the nation with her commitment, courage, and resolve.On the martyrdom day of Lumma Karima Baloch, BSO AZAD paid her a red tribute and pledged to continue her struggle for the freedom of the Baloch nation. Karima was among the top leaders who stood firm against the enemy during the most challenging times of the struggle. The state employed numerous tactics to silence her and force her to abandon the Baloch national cause. To pressure her, the enemy abducted one of her uncles and threatened her to renounce her struggle.
Despite these threats, Karima remained resolute, declaring that she would continue to fight on the frontlines for the Baloch national cause. In retaliation, the enemy delivered her uncle’s mutilated body as a warning.Even after being repeatedly threatened with death, Karima stood tall and fearless, leading her organization and inspiring countless women in Balochistan to join the national struggle for freedom.
Her bravery and determination opened doors for Baloch women to play active roles in the fight for independence. Recognizing her contributions, BSO AZAD honored her with the title Lumma-e-watan—the mother of the land.On the 4th martyrdom anniversary of Lumma Karima, we pledge to carry her struggle forward with renewed enthusiasm, determined to achieve the freedom of Balochistan, for which she laid down her life.
To commemorate Karima Baloch’s heroic struggle, a social media campaign has been launched to pay tribute to her enduring efforts for the national movement. Various activities have also been organized to honor her memory. Karima’s mission for an independent Balochistan is a mission shared by every son and daughter of the Baloch nation. Her struggle will inevitably lead to the realization of a free and independent Baloch homeland, where every Baloch person can live in peace and prosperity.
