Netherlands: Baloch Martyrs’ Day – Living Nations Honor Their Martyrs, Says Dr. Naseem Baloch

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a seminar in The Hague to mark Baloch Martyrs’ Day.

The program commenced with a two-minute silence to honor the martyrs, followed by the performance of the Baloch national anthem by Bakshi Baloch, Abid Jan Baloch, and Basit Zaheer.Participants were also shown a documentary showcasing the sacrifices made by Baloch martyrs in their struggle for freedom.

The seminar included speeches by BNM Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch, Foreign Secretary Fahim Baloch, BNM Netherlands President Mohim Abdul Rahim Baloch, Vice President Waheed Baloch, and several other prominent figures, including Abdul Ghani Baloch, Wahid Baloch, Dr. Latif Baloch, Kia Baloch, Jamal Baloch, Jawahir Baloch, and Muhammad Baloch.

BNM Netherlands General Secretary Deedag Baloch and Joint Secretary Aalia Baloch coordinated the event.Speakers emphasized that Baloch Martyrs’ Day is dedicated to remembering the sacrifices of Baloch national martyrs. They recounted the historical significance of November 13, 1839, when the British army invaded Balochistan. Despite being outnumbered and poorly equipped, Khan Mehrab Khan and his companions courageously resisted and embraced martyrdom, choosing death over surrender and enslavement.”

Thousands of Baloch, including women, children, the elderly, and youth, have been martyred by the Pakistan army. The history of Balochistan’s freedom struggle is deeply rooted in the nation’s determination to preserve its culture, language, and resources,” a speaker noted. “This day is a reminder to honor their sacrifices and to inspire future generations with their unwavering love for the land and loyalty to their cause.”

One speaker remarked that the Baloch have consistently resisted subjugation throughout history, whether by the Portuguese, the British, or any other force. The bravery of Khan Mehrab Khan remains a powerful symbol of resistance.

While the martyrs are no longer with us physically, their ideology and vision endure, inspiring the Baloch national movement, which has now reached a global audience. The movement remains steadfast in its mission to fulfill the dreams and sacrifices of the martyrs.
