Mand. 9th day of the road block sit-in, 1st round of negotiations failed last night

The people of Maheer town have blocked the road in protest for the last nine days in Mand area of ​​Kech district, the people of Maheer have demanded that the Pakistani forces immediately evacuate and end their occupation of their houses located in Maheer Town. Houses occupied by Pakistani forces for the last five years.

At the sit-in site last night, the Brigadier of FC Tump and the district administration came to negotiate with the protesting committee, at first they threatened them, but when the villagers resisted them, the administration asked for a six-month reprieve, which was denied by Maheer protest committee.

District administration representative Mrs. Rahima Jalal invited negotiations for an assurance period of one month, upon which the villagers agreed on this condition by including the former and current representatives of the area, DC Kech and Kech Bar Association as witnesses.

Assured to negotiate It should be remembered that like in different areas of Balochistan, the forces are occupying people’s houses in different villages of Mand and Tump and from there they continue to monitor the population, filming people with drone cameras and destroying privacy of people, the presence of the forces within the population is very uncomfortable especially for women, the forces exploit the common people by harassing or blackmailing them in various ways.
