Jiand and Sherbaz illegally Detained and disappeared by Pakistani Forces. Family Press Conference

If they weren’t release till August 11, then we demonstrate and will held a rally in Quetta on August 12.

Jaind Baloch and Sherbaz Baloch, who were forcibly disappeared from Quetta on 26th July, by Pakistani forces, families held a press conference along with the leaders of Baloch Yakjehti Committee and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons.

Rizwana Baloch, Enforcedly Disappeared Jiand Baloch wife said “that on the night of July 26, Baloch Students Organization Central Chairman Jiand Baloch and Senior Vice Chairman Sher Baz Baloch along with other friends were forcibly arrested by the police and plainclothes personnel of Pakistani intelligence agencies from Spiny Road Quetta. And they took them to Quaidabad police station. The next day, some of other associates were released and an FIR was filed against them and some other were shifted to jail, while Jiand Baloch and Sherbaz Baloch were transferred to an unknown location, theirs whereabouts is still unknown.

They said that in the Baloch society, BSO is a political and social science school for Baloch students and youth, which has historically been a representative organization based on democratic and progressive principles against the overall problems and subjugation of students and people. But unfortunately, through the policies based on oppression and exploitation imposed on the Baloch society for the last several decades, all kinds of political and democratic forms of struggle have been banned. Baloch People’s are being targeted for speaking out or protesting, and efforts have been made to suppress every voice against oppression by subjecting young people to forced disappearances and false cases.

She further said, “We believe that thousands of missing youths, including Jiand Baloch and Sher Baz Baloch, have been forcefully disappear for raising their voice against oppression.

Mrs. Jiand said” For the past several years, our family has been facing continuous forced disappearances and false cases. On November 29, 2018 midnight, forces forcibly abducted Jiand Baloch, his father and younger brother Hasnain Baloch from our house. Jiand Baloch was kept in torture cell for 8 months without any justification, while minor Hasnain Baloch was transferred to Karachi Jail by filing false cases, who is still imprisoned in Karachi Central Jail.

These incidents have caused the family constant mental agony and grief which is still going on. We demand relief and justice from this oppression imposed on our family.

She said that it should be remembered that due to the government crackdown on “Baloch Raji Machi” in Gwadar on July 28, hundreds of youths were arrested and disappeared across Quetta and Balochistan, including Jiand Baloch and Sher Baz Baloch. Neither produced in court nor transferred to jail.

The disappearance of youths from police stations is a cause of concern for the family and also a question mark on the state institutions established in the name of public safety.

She said that through this press conference, we also want to send a message to the state institutions that Jaind Baloch and Sher Baloch are responsible ciyio and peaceful political activists, if they are guilty for any kind of crime, should be present in front of judiciary.
