QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: A construction company camp in Duki district was attacked by armed men who killed a security guard and abducted 12 workers, while separate attacks targeted Pakistani forces’ camps in Quetta and Mastung.
According to police, unidentified armed men attacked the camp of a construction company in the Palri area of Nana Sahib Ziarat, Duki district, killing one security guard, injuring two others, and abducting 12 laborers.
Police said around 40 to 45 armed militants stormed the camp of SMC Construction Company, checked the identity cards of workers present and abducted 12 of them. Of those abducted, 10 belong to Punjab, one is from the local area and one is from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The company’s security guard was killed on the spot in the firing, while two people including a passerby were injured. Before leaving, the attackers set fire to heavy machinery and four vehicles at the camp.
In an area adjoining Quetta, a large group of armed men attacked a Pakistani forces’ camp at “Tas Butt” in the Daghari area on Friday evening, striking from multiple directions with rockets and other weapons. Heavy gunfire and explosions were heard in the area for an extended period, regional sources said.
Meanwhile, in the Isplinji area of Mastung, armed men attacked the forces’ main camp with rockets at night. Eyewitnesses said several explosions occurred inside the camp.
Authorities have not yet issued any details regarding the attacks and no group has claimed responsibility so far.
