CHAGAI, BALOCHISTAN: Armed individuals launched a heavy attack on Pakistani military vehicles and a commercial convoy near Chehtar on a key trade highway in Balochistan’s Chaghi district.
According to local sources, a large group of armed men ambushed the highway early Tuesday morning, targeting both security forces and the trade convoy. Immediately after the attack, the area echoed with heavy explosions and gunfire, which continued uninterrupted for more than 30 minutes.
Sources claim that at least seven military personnel were killed or injured in the attack. No further details have emerged regarding developments on the highway or a military search operation in the area following the incident. Neither the administration nor military sources have issued any official statement on the incident.
In a separate development in the district, armed individuals blockaded a commercial route in Chaghi’s Barta Gazi area for several hours, according to local reports. Two people were reportedly detained for questioning during the blockade, while a vehicle carrying flour was seized.
