
THATTA, SINDH: Two police officers were killed in a targeted attack by unknown motorcycle riders in the Gharo area near Thatta, Sindh, with the assailants also making off with the officers’ official weapons before fleeing the scene.
According to sources, the deceased officers were identified as Akbar Marri and Majeed Marri, both of whom were shot dead on the spot in the ambush. The attack was swift and calculated, leaving no time for the officers to respond.
Sources confirmed that after carrying out the attack, the unidentified gunmen seized the official weapons of both officers and managed to escape. No arrests have been made so far and the attackers remain at large.
Upon receiving information, police and law enforcement agencies reached the scene and launched a search operation in the area. The bodies of the slain officers were shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities.
As of the filing of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the security of police personnel in Sindh, particularly in remote and vulnerable areas.
