PARIS, FRANCE: Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch has condemned the Pakistani army’s collective punishment policy in Balochistan, sharing his statement on social media platform X.
In his post, Dr. Naseem Baloch said that multiple homes belonging to Nazeer Baloch, Sher Dil Baloch, Umar Baloch, and Taj Mohammed Baloch in Gomazi, Kech, were bulldozed and set on fire. He said videos from the scene show men in Pakistani military uniforms supervising the operation, instructing a tractor driver, and standing near the burning houses. He added that several other homes were damaged and valuable belongings were taken from different houses during the incident.
Dr. Naseem Baloch said this is not an isolated incident, describing the destruction of civilian homes as a recurring pattern in Balochistan, where families are repeatedly subjected to such treatment. He said similar incidents have occurred in several areas over the years as part of what he called systematic collective punishment.
The BNM chairman raised a series of questions directed at the international community, asking why entire families are being left homeless and traumatized, and what crime the women, children, and elderly living in these homes had committed.
Dr. Naseem Baloch called on the international community, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to take notice of these repeated incidents and ensure independent investigations are carried out. He warned that silence in the face of such incidents only emboldens further abuses.
