BALOCHISTAN: The United Baloch Army (UBA) has claimed responsibility for killing an individual it identified as a state informer involved in the death of one of its fighters, according to a statement issued by UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch.
According to the statement, UBA fighters detained Dorain Marri, son of Sohbat Khan Marri, on 1st May on suspicion. Following initial questioning, he was formally held and interrogated, during which the group claims he confessed to involvement in the killing of UBA fighter Sangat Shadi Gul Marri.
The UBA statement alleges that on 1st April, Dorain Marri lured Sangat Shadi Gul Marri away under the pretext of work, mixed narcotic substances into his tea rendering him unconscious, and subsequently killed him. His body was reportedly buried at an undisclosed location with the assistance of accomplices.
Further interrogation revealed that Dorain Marri had been working against Baloch fighters on behalf of state institutions for several years and disclosed the names of additional associates during questioning.
The UBA stated that on the basis of evidence and confessions, a body it refers to as the “Baloch National Court” sentenced Doreen Marri to death, which was subsequently carried out by its fighters.
In its statement, the UBA issued a stern warning to individuals it accuses of collaborating with state institutions, stating that all such operatives are known to the organisation and will remain permanent targets.
“No leniency will be shown to national traitors,” the statement read.
The UBA paid tribute to Shaheed Sangat Shadi Gul Marri, describing him as a dedicated fighter who had served on the Kohistan Marri and Harnai fronts for several years before his death.
“He dedicated his entire life to the struggle. His association with the organisation, steadfastness, and services are a source of pride,” the statement said.
