QUETTA, BALOCHISGAN: Baloch Students Organisation Pajjar (BSO Pajjar) senior member Bilal Nichari was forcibly disappeared by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other state agencies from Quetta.
According to BSO Pajjar, Bilal Nichari was taken along with another individual, Asad Bangulzai, in the early morning today While Asad Bangulzai was subsequently released, Bilal Nichari remains in custody, the organisation said.
In its official statement, BSO Pajjar’s central spokesperson strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of Bilal Nichari, describing him as a peaceful political activist who had always conducted his political activities within democratic and constitutional boundaries.
“Forcibly disappearing peaceful political activists in this manner is a grave violation of fundamental human rights, which not only damages democratic values but also increases anxiety and insecurity among the youth,” the spokesperson said.
The organisation demanded that Bilal Nichari be immediately produced before the public and that if any charges exist against him, he should be presented before a court of law rather than subjected to enforced disappearance.
BSO Pajjar further demanded the immediate recovery of all other missing persons alongside Bilal Nichari, calling for an end to the distress faced by their families.
“Enforced disappearances are unacceptable in any civilised society and this practice places a question mark over the rule of law,” the spokesperson stated.
Concluding the statement, the BSO Pajjar spokesperson warned that if Bilal Nichari and other missing persons are not immediately recovered, the organisation will be compelled to adopt a strict protest action plan, holding the relevant institutions fully responsible for all consequences.

Pakistani authorities and CTD have not issued any official response regarding the incident at the time of publication.
