QUETTA: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the killing of four Baloch youth in Panjgur, saying that they were victims of a staged encounter carried out by Pakistani forces.
In a statement, BYC said that the bodies of four individuals were brought to Panjgur Hospital and presented as casualties of an armed clash. However, the group maintained that the victims had previously been subjected to enforced disappearance.
Among those identified is 18-year-old student Marwan, son of Hamza Baloch, a resident of Shapatan, Panjgur. According to BYC, he was forcibly disappeared by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from the Legork area of Paroom and remained disappeared prior to his killing.
The group stated that the incident is part of what it described as an ongoing pattern of extrajudicial killings of disappeared persons in Balochistan. It claimed that in Panjgur alone, dozens of Baloch youth have been killed in recent months under similar circumstances.
BYC further said that such actions reflect a broader policy of repression, accusing state institutions of failing to provide accountability or legal recourse. It also criticized the silence of judicial and human rights bodies over the continued killings.
The organization urged people to raise their voices against what it termed systematic violence and called for collective action to prevent further loss of life.
