QUETTA: Former central chairman of the Baloch Students Organization, Imran Baloch, has strongly criticized false propaganda against Dr. Sabiha Baloch, stating that such actions are aimed at concealing state repression against the Baloch people.
In his statement, Imran Baloch said that peaceful political leaders are being targeted in order to prolong state and national oppression in Balochistan. He said that Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has resorted to baseless accusations in an attempt to silence organized political voices.
He further claimed that a woman who had reportedly been in custody for four months after enforced disappearance was suddenly brought before the media and made to participate in a press conference, during which allegations were made against Dr. Sabiha Baloch. According to him, these accusations were false, fabricated and politically motivated.
Imran Baloch described Dr. Sabiha Baloch as a peaceful political activist and a strong voice for human rights, who has been actively highlighting enforced disappearances, alleged killings, and exploitation of resources in Balochistan. He said that her activism has made her a target for what he called “anti-Baloch forces.”
He also criticized the use of individuals in custody to level accusations against political figures, calling it an attempt to suppress dissent and silence organized resistance against oppression.
Imran Baloch added that such tactics would not succeed in silencing the Baloch people, stating that political awareness and activism have grown stronger over time. He noted that voices are now being raised globally regarding human rights violations in Balochistan.
He urged the Baloch public to speak out against what he described as a state-led media trial targeting Dr. Sabiha Baloch and to expose what he termed the “true face” of state and those who are in Power.
