Dalbandin: Family Announces Protest Rally on Eid for Forcibly Disappeared Ghulam Hazrat

Dalbandin, Balochistan: The family of forcibly disappeared Ghulam Hazrat has announced that they will hold a protest rally on the first day of Eid, demanding his immediate release.

Speaking at a press conference, the family stated that Ghulam Hazrat was forcibly disappeared on October 1, 2018, around 5:00 PM from the Dano grounds in Dalbandin. Despite eight years of persistent legal and democratic efforts to secure his release, no meaningful action has been taken by the authorities.

The family further revealed that they were called to Dalbandin Cantonment and later to Quetta regarding Ghulam Hazrat’s disappearance. Meetings were held twice with the Deputy Commissioner of Kharan and tribal elders and regional dignitaries repeatedly gave assurances. However, no significant progress has been made to date.

Through the press conference, the family made a renewed appeal to the relevant authorities to bring Ghulam Hazrat to public view. They emphasized that the family is enduring severe mental stress and anguish. They clarified that if there are any allegations against him, they are ready to face all legal requirements in accordance with the constitution.

The family also appealed to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), national and international human rights organizations, relevant forums and civil society to take notice of this serious human rights violation, raise their voices and play an active role in ensuring Ghulam Hazrat’s immediate recovery.

Reiterating their commitment to legal and democratic means, the family announced that they will organize a peaceful protest rally on the first day of Eid to highlight their demand. They urged the administration and concerned authorities to allow the protest under the law and called on all human rights advocates and conscious citizens to participate and support their cause.
