QUETTA: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the harassment of its member Syed Bibi Baloch, who has been raising her voice against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, BYC said that on 16 October 2025, Syed Bibi Baloch was placed on Pakistan’s Fourth Schedule, apparently in an attempt to silence her. Despite this, she continued to comply with the law, regularly reporting to the Counter Terrorism Department and the Home Department to mark her attendance.
The statement added that on the night of 12 March 2026, personnel from the Frontier Corps and the Military Intelligence raided her home, frightening her children and damaging household belongings, while surrounding the house for nearly three hours.
BYC described such actions as intimidation of peaceful political activists and demanded an immediate end to the harassment of its members. The organization further highlighted that five BYC leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, have been illegally detained for almost a year, and member Nazar Marri has been forcibly disappeared, demonstrating a pattern of systematic harassment intended to create fear and silence dissent.
Despite these pressures, BYC emphasized that its members will continue to stand against injustice, enforced disappearances and what they describe as the ongoing genocide of the Baloch people, and will not bow to intimidation.
