Quetta: Despite intense cold and rainfall, the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continues in Quetta. Led by the organization’s Chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, the camp has entered its 6,074th day today. The camp is set up in front of the Quetta Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that their peaceful and constitutional struggle will continue until enforced disappearances are completely ended and missing persons are recovered.
Meanwhile, the family of forcibly disappeared Abdul Fatah Bangulzai contacted VBMP today and complained that Abdul Fatah, son of Rasool Bakhsh, was taken into custody by security forces on May 23, 2014, from the Spilangi area of Mastung and was forcibly disappeared.
According to the family, Abdul Fatah’s enforced disappearance has been proven at the level of the Enforced Disappearances Commission, and in 2022 the commission issued a production order in his case. However, he has neither been presented before any court nor has the family been provided with any information about his well-being, due to which the family is suffering from severe distress.
Nasrullah Baloch stated that more than 700 production orders have been issued at the commission level, but the government has failed to ensure their implementation. He added that a written complaint was also submitted to the Supreme Court, which had assured that the implementation of production orders would be ensured, but even after one year, no action has been taken.
The VBMP Chairman has appealed to the government and the superior judiciary to immediately implement the production orders issued by the commission regarding Abdul Fatah Bangulzai and other forcibly disappeared persons, and to relieve their families from a lifetime of suffering.
