Enforced Disappearances “Hit the Core of Baloch Societal Psyche,” Baloch Women Forum Demands Release of Brothers Disappeared in Jiwani

BWF

QUETTA: The Baloch Women Forum has called for the immediate release of two brothers, Balach Hassan and Ehsan Hassan, who reportedly disappeared from their home in Jiwani on January 22.

In a statement, the forum said the disappearances, carried out during a midnight raid by personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Military Intelligence (MI), reflect a wider pattern of enforced disappearances that it says are “hitting the core of the Baloch societal psyche.”

The group emphasized that such detentions violate both state and international law, and stressed that if the brothers were accused of any crime, they should have been formally arrested and presented before a court.

The forum also urged accountability and condemned what it described as ongoing anti-Baloch policies by state institutions.
