KHUZDAR: Reports have emerged of violence against women and children and the enforced disappearance of two individuals during an operation carried out yesterday by Pakistani forces in the Ornach Khuzdar, Balochistan.
According to local sources and eyewitnesses, the raid was conducted by Pakistani forces accompanied by unidentified armed men, who are locally described as a “death squad.”
Eyewitnesses stated that during the operation, women and children present in the homes resisted attempts to detain individuals, after which the forces subjected women and underage children to severe violence. Local residents reported that several women were injured as a result of the abuse, while children were left traumatized and in a state of extreme fear.
Sources further said that during the operation, two individuals were taken into custody and transferred to an unknown location, after which they have not been seen again. The missing persons have been identified as Yasin, son of Bahram, and Yousaf, son of Muhammad Karim.
For the past two decades, Balochistan has seen repeated of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial detentions, and civilian casualties during security operations. Local and international human rights organizations have repeatedly urged Pakistan to ensure the protection of civilians’ fundamental rights.
