Quetta: Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) chief Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch has warned foreign investors, particularly China and Western countries, against investing in Balochistan under Pakistan’s control, stating that such projects will neither be sustainable nor secure. In a strongly worded statement, he described China’s partnership with Pakistan in Balochistan as a “serious strategic mistake” and said the recent attack in Nokundi was a clear national message from the Baloch people.
Dr. Allah Nazar said China is directly involved in what he termed exploitative projects on Baloch land, the coastal belt, and natural resources, adding that the Baloch nation has collectively decided that no development project in Balochistan can be accepted before national independence, regardless of which country undertakes it. He emphasized that history proves projects imposed by force inevitably fail and create long-term instability.
He accused Pakistan of committing systematic genocide and war crimes in Balochistan over the past two decades, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment, and forced displacement. According to him, China’s close cooperation with Pakistan has effectively linked it to these actions, which he said contradict principles of justice, dignity, and the right to self-determination.
Clarifying his position, Dr. Allah Nazar stated that the Baloch nation does not consider China a direct enemy, but warned that unconditional cooperation with Pakistan makes China complicit in Pakistan’s policies in Balochistan. He described China’s current approach as morally indefensible, especially given China’s own historical struggle for justice and sovereignty.
Referring to the recent attack in Nokundi, Chagai, which impacted Chinese and other foreign companies, Dr. Allah Nazar said the incident should be viewed as a Baloch national response to Pakistan’s external partners, rather than merely an attack on Pakistan. He said the attack demonstrated that all foreign investments in Balochistan are directly linked to the Baloch national liberation movement, and that projects carried out under Pakistan’s authority are perceived as threats to the very existence of the Baloch nation.
He urged Chinese leadership to reassess its policies toward Pakistan, particularly regarding Balochistan, and to prioritize the political, economic, and national rights of the indigenous Baloch population instead of ignoring them.
Dr. Allah Nazar extended the same warning to countries in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, calling on the international community to recognize what he described as the legitimate struggle of the Baloch people for freedom. He said an independent Balochistan would be willing to engage as a responsible and dignified partner with nations that respect freedom, justice, and human dignity.
