PARIS: Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, has strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of Ashfaq Mushtaq, describing it as yet another tragic reminder of Pakistan’s ongoing atrocities in Balochistan.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Naseem stated, “Ashfaq Mushtaq’s story is yet another painful chapter in the long suffering of the Baloch people under Pakistan’s brutal occupation. His family has already paid a heavy price for their identity and dignity.”
He recalled that in May 2025, Pakistani forces and their local proxies raided the home of Ashfaq’s uncle, Lala Lateef, killing him in cold blood. Earlier, in March 2025, the Pakistani army abducted and later killed his cousin, Saif Lateef, along with eight other relatives in Mashkay, Balochistan.
“Now, the same forces have abducted Ashfaq Mushtaq, continuing their campaign of terror against one family after another,” Dr. Naseem added. “His only crime is being Baloch, daring to exist in a land where Baloch lives are treated as disposable.”
The BNM Chairman urged the international community to end its silence and hold Pakistan accountable for its systematic human rights violations, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
