Dasht: Four Disappeared Persons Killed in Fake Encounter, Two Identified

In Dasht, Kech district of Balochistan, the Pakistani Army claimed to have killed four fighters of an armed Baloch group in a clash. However, local sources and families insist that the victims were previously forcibly disappeared and were killed in a staged encounter on Friday.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Sattar, son of Khalid and Tariq, son of Haji Hamza. Their families state that both were taken into custody by Pakistani forces on November 12, 2024 and had remained disappeared since then. Sources allege that weapons found at the scene were the same as those seized from two BLF members killed earlier, suggesting an attempt to fabricate evidence.

Relatives and local residents have strongly rejected the Pakistani army’s claim, saying their loved ones were already missing and have now been falsely portrayed as insurgents. Observers note that similar incidents have been reported in the past and the latest killings come shortly after two major attacks on security forces in Dasht.
