In Zehri, a tehsil of Khuzdar district in Balochistan, a drone strike by the Pakistani Army near the Tarasani causeway killed four people, including two women and a man from the same family — while five others were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the drone strike targeted a gathering, killing Ali Akbar Miraji, his wife and two other relatives. One passerby was also among the dead, while the injured included both men and women.
Sources said that the deceased, cleric Ali Akbar Miraji, had traveled with his family to Surab Gaddar to offer condolences and on their return to their home in Faraqod, their convoy was targeted by the drone.
Local residents reported that drone aircraft have been continuously flying over the area.
No official statement has yet been issued by Pakistani forces regarding yesterday’s drone strike. However, two days earlier, ISPR had confirmed airstrikes in Zehri by jet aircraft, claiming to have targeted a hideout of Baloch separatists. Local sources, however, stated that civilians were also affected, with three members of the Pandrani tribe killed in that bombing.
It is noteworthy that since August 11, various areas of Zehri have been under the control of Baloch separatists. During this period, Pakistani forces have faced multiple attacks, resulting in several personnel killed. The Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS), an alliance of separatist groups, has claimed responsibility for taking control of Zehri and for attacks on Pakistani forces.
