The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) spokesperson, Major Gwhram Baloch, stated that on the evening of September 7, the BLF’s intelligence wing received information that operatives of Pakistan’s Military Intelligence (MI) were holding a meeting at the guest house of Munir Mubarki in the Singani Sar area of Turbat. Acting on the tip-off, BLF fighters launched an attack at 4:40 p.m.
According to the spokesperson, the meeting ended minutes before the attack and some MI operatives managed to escape in a vehicle. However, BLF fighters opened fire, killing two MI agents Masti Khan, son of Munir Mubarki and Musaib, son of Hasil Khan on the spot and later set their vehicles ablaze.
The spokesperson alleged that the slain MI operatives were involved in profiling unarmed Baloch civilians, particularly youth, orchestrating enforced disappearances and harassing families of media activists in Turbat. They were also accused of criminal activities such as theft and robbery in the city.
In a separate operation, BLF fighters targeted two gas tankers transporting supplies from Balochistan to Punjab on the CPEC bypass road in Surab between 11 p.m. and midnight on September 7. The tankers sustained partial damage and the drivers were taken into BLF custody.
The statement concluded by affirming that the Balochistan Liberation Front claims responsibility for killing the two Military Intelligence operatives in Turbat and for targeting the gas tankers in Surab.
