Pakistani Security forces in Quetta have allegedly taken prominent religious scholar Maulana Khalilullah Shahab into custody and moved him to an undisclosed location.
According to reports, late at night, personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) raided the scholar’s residence, arresting him and taking him away. Since then, no information about his whereabouts has been made available.
A post from Maulana Shahab’s official page stated that a large number of CTD personnel surrounded the area before carrying out the raid. During the operation, no one was allowed to approach or ask questions. It is reported that Pakistani security personnel took Maulana Shahab directly from his own room.
Authorities have not released any official statement regarding the incident so far.
