Sajid Tareen Advocate, Senior Vice President of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and former President of the Balochistan High Court Bar, stated that the “puppet government” of Balochistan has filed a terrorism-related FIR against BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal.
According to Sajid Tareen Advocate, this FIR came to light when the Quetta Anti-Terrorism Court issued a final notice to Sardar Akhtar Mengal. He said that the FIR had been concealed, but it was revealed during court proceedings.
He explained that the FIR alleges a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officer was watching a YouTube interview in which Sardar Akhtar Mengal spoke about the sit-in demanding the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other missing persons. The FIR accuses him of allegedly “praying for banned organizations” and holding the establishment responsible for the suicide attack at BNP’s protest sit-in.
Sajid Tareen Advocate described the FIR as fake and baseless, asserting that such actions cannot intimidate the party leadership. He said, “If raising our voice for the mothers and daughters of Balochistan is a crime, then BNP will continue to commit this crime.”
He further stated that despite state repression and political victimization, the voice of the Baloch people cannot be silenced.
