In the Gidar area of Sorab, Balochistan, armed militants launched an assault on the main camp of Pakistani security forces. Reports indicate that the attackers have successfully taken control of the camp.
According to local sources, loud explosions and intense gunfire can currently be heard from the vicinity of the camp. Movement of Pakistani security forces has reportedly been significantly restricted.
It is noteworthy that Sorab is located approximately 212 kilometers from Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. As of now, officials have not issued any statement regarding the incident.
Historically, similar attacks in Balochistan have been carried out by the armed separatist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which has previously taken control of military camps and urban areas.
