Enforced Disappearances of Munir Ahmed and Ismail Baloch Deeply Concerning, Must Be Released Immediately. VBMP

The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has expressed serious concern over the enforced disappearances of Munir Ahmed Raisani and Ismail Khair Muhammad Baloch, calling for their immediate release.

According to VBMP, Munir Ahmed, son of Mir Nihal Khan Raisani, was forcibly detained by state forces on June 25, 2025, from RCD Road in Mangochar. He was taken to an undisclosed location without legal process. His family contacted VBMP, stating that they have not been informed about the reason for his arrest, nor do they know which agency is holding him a situation causing them immense distress.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch emphasized that if Munir Ahmed is accused of any wrongdoing, he should be brought before a court of law and prosecuted according to the Constitution. “We will not object if he is found guilty and sentenced under legal procedures,” he stated. “But if he is innocent, he must be released immediately to end the suffering of his family.”

Meanwhile, it has now been six months since the enforced disappearance of Ismail Khair Muhammad Baloch, a resident of Turbat. According to his family, Ismail was abducted by security forces on January 15, 2025, from Bahman, Turbat and has remained missing ever since. The family reports that they have received no official explanation regarding his arrest or whereabouts.

They further shared that they have staged multiple sit-ins, protests, and press conferences on D Baloch Road in Turbat, and even met with the Deputy Commissioner. However, they were only given verbal reassurances, and now authorities have gone completely silent. “Every time we approach an institution, we are met with silence — the psychological toll is unbearable,” the family said.

Both the families and VBMP have appealed to state authorities to immediately bring Munir Ahmed and Ismail Baloch into the public domain. “If any charges exist, they must be presented in court. If not, these individuals must be released and their families spared further trauma.”
