In Balochistan’s Awaran district, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a Pakistani military checkpost in the Jhao area.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, BLF fighters launched a coordinated assault on June 12 at approximately 5:40 PM, targeting the Nondra Cross checkpost with rockets and heavy weapons. The attack reportedly resulted in the death of two Pakistani soldiers and left three others seriously injured.
Sources from the area had earlier reported intense gunfire and explosions during the attack, but no official statement was issued by Pakistani authorities at the time. The area is known for frequent confrontations between Baloch separatist fighters and Pakistani military forces.
In his statement, Major Gwahram Baloch said the Pakistani army is facing severe psychological defeat due to the organized operations of BLF fighters. He alleged that, in an attempt to conceal this failure and boost troop morale, Pakistani forces continue to abduct and extrajudicially kill innocent civilians.
The BLF spokesperson also announced that a video of the attack would soon be released through the organization’s official media platform, “Ashob.” Reaffirming the group’s commitment, he stated that operations against the occupying army, its installations, and collaborators will continue until the achievement of an independent Balochistan.
