Quetta, Balochistan – The protest by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued on Monday, marking the 5,847th day of the ongoing sit-in camp. On this occasion, VBMP Executive Committee member Niaz Nechari condemned the continued disappearance of Mahjabeen, a Baloch student, and demanded her immediate and safe recovery.
Niaz Nechari stated that there has been a disturbing rise in enforced disappearances in recent times. He accused state institutions of unlawfully arresting Baloch individuals under the pretext of national security, particularly from various regions of Balochistan. “After being abducted, these individuals are either found dead in remote areas with mutilated bodies or are killed in staged encounters,” he said. “This pattern has created a climate of fear and insecurity among the Baloch people, which poses a serious threat to national stability.”
He urged the government to take immediate action to recover Mahjabeen and all other forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals. Niaz Nechari further demanded an end to unconstitutional actions and human rights violations being carried out in Balochistan under the guise of national security. He called on the state to engage with the people of Balochistan within the framework of the law and constitutional rights.
