Quetta — Dr. Shalee Baloch, the central organizer of the Baloch Women’s Forum, has expressed deep concern over the enforced disappearance of Ghani Baloch, a prominent MPhil scholar and a central committee member of the National Democratic Party (NDP). She called the incident extremely alarming and in urgent need of immediate attention.
In her statement, Dr.Shalee Baloch emphasized that Ghani Baloch’s abduction represents a grave human rights violation. He was reportedly forcibly taken into custody in the Khuzdar area while traveling from Quetta to Karachi. His family and loved ones are gravely worried about his safety and whereabouts.
Dr. Baloch noted that educated youth and activists like Ghani Baloch are increasingly becoming easy targets of state repression in Balochistan. “These individuals raise their voices for their rights and freedoms, and in return, they face harassment, threats, and various forms of persecution,” she said.
She urged the authorities to take immediate and effective action to secure the release of Ghani Baloch and all other missing persons, and to put an end to the ongoing practice of enforced disappearances in the region.
