The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) held a protest rally in Khuzdar demanding the recovery of BYC leadership and against enforced disappearances in Balochistan. A heavy deployment of security forces was made in an attempt to stop the rally.
According to eyewitnesses, security forces surrounded the area even before the rally began. Women protesters were threatened with arrest under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO), and several routes were blocked. However, after resistance from the women, the protesters managed to reach the protest site, where they were encircled by the forces.
According to BYC, protest demonstrations are ongoing in various cities of Balochistan, including Khuzdar, aimed at raising voices against state oppression, extrajudicial killings, and enforced disappearances. The organization stated that these protests are part of a coordinated campaign to raise public awareness about human rights violations in Balochistan.
It is worth noting that similar rallies have previously been held in Turbat, Mastung, Noshki, Panjgur, Kharan, Dalbandin, Quetta, and Hub Chowki.
