According to a statement released by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, on the evening of February 23, BLF fighters set up checkpoints at multiple locations along the Bolan-Sibi Highway, including near the Ab-e-Gum, Green Hotel and Pir Ghaib Cross, conducting snap vehicle inspections.
He emphasized that during the national struggle for independence, fighters must strategically play their intellectual and revolutionary roles on various fronts. Particularly when operating on highways and engaging with the public, guerrilla fighters must adhere to established revolutionary principles and maintain organizational discipline. This is a challenging task, but even in such critical situations, maintaining ideological cohesion between the organization and the people while achieving the desired objectives of national freedom fighters represents their greatest success.
Major Gohram Baloch further stated that last evening, BLF fighters blocked and inspected the highway at four different points in Bolan. During this operation, a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from a so-called political party arrived at the checkpoint. The fighters confiscated his government-issued weapons but treated him with dignity in accordance with organizational protocols, allowing him to leave as a Baloch.
He reported that during the checkpoint operation, a pickup truck and an armored vehicle belonging to Pakistani forces approached the blockade. The fighters launched an attack, targeting the armored vehicle with a rocket, setting part of it on fire and wounding multiple personnel.
In retaliation, Major Gohram Baloch noted, enemy forces opened fire on civilian vehicles. According to reports, one passerby was killed, and several others were wounded due to enemy fire. During the battle, enemy soldiers stationed at checkpoints in the surrounding areas also engaged in heavy gunfire and mortar shelling.
By midnight, after blocking and controlling the Bolan-Sibi Highway, the fighters, divided into different units, safely returned to their bases.
Through this press statement, Major Gohram Baloch appeals to the Baloch nation and transport owners to fully cooperate in ensuring the safety of the fighters during such operations and to strictly follow their instructions.
He concluded that the Balochistan Liberation Front will continue its attacks against the occupying forces until the complete liberation of Balochistan.
