QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The family of Ghulam Haider Kurd has demanded his immediate and safe recovery, saying he was taken into custody by personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other agencies in Quetta on March 12, 2026, and has not been traced since.
Addressing a press conference, a family member said Ghulam Haider Kurd, son of Juma Khan, was picked up from Gali No. 19, Eastern Bypass, near Killi Pirkani and moved to an unknown location. The speaker, who identified himself as Kurd’s brother, said the family has received no information about him to date.
The family said his mother, sister, brothers and other relatives are suffering severe mental distress and uncertainty. “A mother and a family cannot know anything about the whereabouts and safety of their loved one,” the family said, describing the situation as extremely painful.
The family called on senior authorities to recover Ghulam Haider Kurd safely without delay. They said that if he faces any allegations, he should be produced before a court, informed of the charges and given full right to a defense under the law.
The family also appealed to the media to amplify their plea and help convey it to the authorities.
