
MUSTUNG: Quetta-Karachi Highway Closed for 8 Hours, Indefinite Curfew Imposed in Khadd Kocha
The Quetta-Karachi National Highway has been completely closed to traffic for the past eight hours in Mustung following the destruction of several link bridges in Khadd Kocha by explosions, along with clashes between security forces and Baloch Freedom Fighters. Long queues of vehicles have formed on both sides of the highway and travellers are facing severe difficulties and distress.
Separately, a curfew has been imposed in Khadd Kocha tehsil, Mustung, for an indefinite period starting 7:00 AM on Sunday, 23 August, due to security concerns.
According to the Home Department, Government of Balochistan, the curfew was imposed to maintain law and order and ensure the protection of public life and property. The district administration and law enforcement agencies have significantly tightened security arrangements in the area to promptly deal with any untoward incident.
A notification issued in this regard has appealed to the public to respect the law and remain indoors during the curfew period. Following its enforcement, movement of people on roads and in markets in Khadd Kocha and adjoining areas has been once again completely restricted. The administration has made clear that any citizen who violates the orders and steps outside will be personally responsible for any harm to their life or property.
