
QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Attack on the August 14 Ceremony in the capital of Balochistan.
According to local sources, unidentified attackers fired multiple rockets and grenades during an Independence Day (August 14) ceremony in the Zarat Colony area of Quetta. Sources said around eight explosions were heard in the area during the attack.
Officials said a large number of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were present at the ceremony at the time of the attack. However, no official confirmation of casualties or injuries had emerged immediately after the incident.
Such attacks have previously been claimed by Baloch armed groups; however, no group has claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attack so far.
