Bridge on Quetta-Karachi Highway Destroyed in Mustung; Curfew Imposed in Khadkocha

Road Blast dhanz

MASTUNG, BALOCHISTAN; Traffic on the Quetta-Karachi highway was suspended after unidentified armed men destroyed a bridge in Mustung district’s Khadkocha area, near Injeri Cross, using explosives on Wednesday.

The blast partially damaged the bridge, halting the flow of traffic on the highway. Officials noted that several bridges on the same route have been targeted in recent days across different parts of Balochistan, with similar attacks previously reported in Sorab, Kalat, and Khuzdar.

Such attacks have in the past been claimed by Baloch separatist militant organizations; however, no group has so far claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s attack.

Separately, the Balochistan government’s Home Department announced a curfew in Mustung’s Khadkocha sub-tehsil, effective from 8 p.m. tonight until further orders. According to the notification, no person is permitted to leave their home during the curfew period, and anyone found violating the order will be shot on sight.
