Muhammad Umar Forcibly Disappeared by Pakistani Forces from Sukkur

SUKKUR, Sindh: Muhammad Umar, son of Karman Bugti, was forcibly disappeared from the city of Sukkur on July 1, 2026, according to his family.

Umar Bugti, a resident of Sui tehsil in Dera Bugti, was reportedly taken into custody by personnel belonging to state institutions from Sukkur’s livestock market (mandi), his relatives said.

According to the family, Umar runs a livestock trading business and had travelled to the Sukkur cattle market in connection with his work when he was picked up. They said he was forcibly disappeared while conducting routine business activity, with no explanation provided at the time.

No official statement has been issued by authorities regarding Umar’s whereabouts or the reason for his detention.

Enforced disappearances of residents from Balochistan, particularly Baloch tribal areas including Dera Bugti, have been repeatedly documented by human rights organizations and families in recent years. State security institutions have consistently denied allegations of enforced disappearances.
