In Kharan district, armed individuals set up checkpoints at the Bab-e-Kharan area on the outskirts of Kharan city, subjecting passing vehicles to snap searches. The highway serves as a vital route connecting Kharan to Noshki, Quetta, and several other major districts across Balochistan, making its blockade a significant disruption to civilian movement and regional connectivity.
According to source, the armed groups took control of multiple strategic locations including Sarawan, Nowroz Kalat, and Zarozai. That occupation continued for approximately two days before the situation changed.
During that period, fierce clashes were also reported between Pakistani security forces and the armed groups in the area. Details regarding casualties or the outcome of those engagements have not been officially confirmed by authorities.
In a separate but closely connected development, armed groups launched multiple coordinated attacks against Pakistani military forces in the Balbal area of Zehri, Khuzdar.
According to local sources, the ambushes took place as Pakistani forces were advancing through the area in armoured vehicles, tanks, and other military vehicles. The attackers struck at several different locations along the military’s route, turning the advance into a prolonged and dangerous engagement.
