KHARAN, BALOCHISTAN: The spokesperson for Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Azad Baloch, has claimed responsibility for stopping and detaining staff members of the Gorrag Dam project on Sarawan Road in Kharan.
According to the BLA’s statement, the group established a checkpoint on Sarawan Road, stopping vehicles and conducting searches. A four-member team travelling in a pickup truck and identified as ‘Dam Project‘ staff were stopped, their documents checked, and subsequently detained along with their vehicle.
The group stated that two non-local Sindhi labourers were later released unharmed, while the remaining two individuals were taken away for interrogation, which the BLA said has already begun.
The BLA claimed in its statement that Sarawan Road is regularly used by Pakistani military forces for the transportation of supplies and military equipment, and framed the operation as part of its broader effort to disrupt exploitative projects carried out under military patronage.
The group also warned, as it has done on previous occasions, that locals and non-locals alike should not participate in projects it deems connected to Pakistani military operations, or bear responsibility for any consequences.
