QUETTA: Baloch Students Organisation Azad (BSO Azad) has paid tribute to Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch on the 38th anniversary of his martyrdom, describing him as a great revolutionary leader who dedicated his life to giving Baloch national politics a free and ideological direction.
In a statement issued by BSO Azad central spokesperson Sholan Baloch, the organisation commemorated Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch who was martyred on 2nd May 1988 in Turbat, Balochistan.
The BSO Azad spokesperson said that since its establishment, the organisation has always faced conspiracies from opportunistic factions seeking to divide and manipulate it. Amid this environment, Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch emerged as a courageous and visionary leader who struggled to free Baloch national politics from opportunistic grip and give it an independent and sovereign direction.
“He struggled to free Baloch national politics from the grip of opportunists and give it an independent direction. In this struggle and ideological defence, he embraced martyrdom and became immortal in Baloch national politics,” the statement read.
According to BSO Azad, during his student years Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch worked tirelessly to activate Baloch student politics across Balochistan, organising rallies, seminars, and political activities to unite the Baloch people. To practically realise his revolutionary vision of forming a national party for youth, he established the Baloch National Youth Movement (BNYM).
“When he was martyred, he had books in his hands,” the statement noted, reflecting on the circumstances of his killing.
The BSO Azad spokesperson made pointed allegations, claiming that those responsible for Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch’s killing are today using his name to deceive the Baloch nation while simultaneously sitting in Pakistan’s parliament.
“These opportunistic groups martyred a great national leader for their personal interests. But instead of Fida’s dream breaking, Baloch national activists adopted it,” the statement said.
Concluding the tribute, BSO Azad urged Baloch political activists to study Shaheed Fida Ahmad Baloch’s political legacy, understand his true ideology, and play their role in organising Baloch politics in a national direction to realise his dream.
