Quetta: Rahima Bibi, who was forcibly disappeared from Dalbandin along with her younger brother, was publicly presented today in Quetta as an alleged facilitator of a suicide bomber, six months after her enforced disappearance. Her brother, Zubair, remains missing.
Rahima Bibi, daughter of Mohammad Rahim, and her brother Zubair were taken into custody by Pakistani forces from their home on December 9, 2025. Since then, both had remained out of public sight, causing concern among their family and local community about their fate.
After six months of enforced disappearance, official news channels released footage claiming Rahima Bibi’s arrest, accompanied by a confession video in which she is accused of facilitating a suicide bombing.
Earlier, residents of Dalbandin, together with the family members of Rahima Bibi and Zubair, organized protests and sit-ins demanding their safe release. These demonstrations included blocking major highways connecting Quetta and Iran to draw attention to their demands. Although the sit-ins were called off following assurances from authorities, neither Rahima Bibi nor her brother had appeared publicly until this announcement.
The presentation of Rahima Bibi on serious charges has raised alarm among human rights organizations and activists who continue to call for transparency, due process, and an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
