BASIMA: Armed clashes were reported in the Jur area of Basima, when unidentified armed individuals ambushed groups described in local reports as “death squads” supported by the Pakistani military as they attempted to advance in the area where they came under heavy attack by Armed men.
According to local sources, a separate armed group (Death Squad) led by Samad Sumalani also came under attack in the nearby Mamai area during the same period.
Sources further claim that Pakistani military personnel later attempted to move into the area in support of the targeted groups, which reportedly escalated into prolonged exchanges of fire between the opposing sides.
At least seven individuals, including Anwar Sumalani are reported to have sustained injuries in the clashes. However, information regarding any fatalities has not yet been confirmed by independent or official sources.
