UNITED STATES: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has continued its global campaign aimed at raising awareness about human rights violations and anti-Baloch policies in Balochistan.
According to the organization, the campaign seeks to highlight abuses, including enforced disappearances, collective punishment and broader concerns regarding the situation in Balochistan. BNM claims that such actions have persisted for over two decades.
As part of the campaign, members of BNM’s US chapter distributed informational leaflets in public spaces to raise awareness and share their perspective on the situation in Balochistan. The group stated that the initiative aims to inform the international community about what it describes as ongoing injustices in Balochistan.
BNM further said that a wide range of individuals including political activists, journalists, academics and civilians have been affected by violence and enforced disappearances. The organization also raised concerns about cases involving relatives of political activists and journalists, claiming they have been targeted under collective punishment policies.
The group cited specific cases, including the reported disappearance of relatives of BNM Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch, Mohammad Bakhsh Sajidi Baloch in February 2026, and other incidents involving individuals it says were subjected to enforced disappearance or killed in past operations.
BNM also expressed concern over the reported detention of members associated with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), saying lack of access to legal representation and due process.
The organization further stated that people in coastal and resource-rich areas of Balochistan have faced displacement and said that military operations have been carried out to maintain control over the Balochistan’s resources.
According to BNM, awareness activities under this campaign have been conducted across multiple locations in the United States, including Washington, D.C., Massachusetts particularly Boston and Cambridge as well as institutions such as Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Activities were also reported in Framingham, Waltham and in the state of Virginia, including Richmond, Woodbridge, Lorton and Alexandria.
BNM stated that the purpose of the campaign is to draw international attention to the suffering of people in Balochistan and to highlight its concerns regarding ongoing policies and actions in Balochistan.
