QUETTA: Dr. Sabiha Baloch, central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has raised serious concerns over the enforced disappearance of Ghani Baloch, highlighting a troubling pattern of human rights abuses in Balochistan. According to Dr. Baloch, writers, intellectuals and activists who promote awareness and peaceful expression are routinely subjected to unlawful detention without charge or due process.
She emphasized that while peaceful voices face repression, individuals connected to criminal networks and corruption continue to operate with impunity, often securing positions of authority within Balochistan. This disturbing contradiction underscores systemic issues of governance and justice in Balochistan.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch called for the immediate disclosure of Ghani Baloch’s whereabouts, legal status, and condition, underscoring the rights of his family and the public to transparency. She warned that ongoing silence from authorities only deepens public concern and constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights obligations.
“The state must reveal the truth about Ghani Baloch, ensure his safe release and be held accountable under the law,” Dr. Baloch stated firmly. The case of Ghani Baloch serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for justice and accountability in Balochistan.
