QUETTA: The Baloch national leader and chief of the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) Allah Nazar Baloch, has said that the ongoing situation in Balochistan and the actions of the Pakistani military could force the Baloch freedom movement to expand its theater of struggle beyond the region.
In a statement, Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch said that no individual or institution stands above a freedom movement and that the actions of the Pakistani military, which he referred to as “Fitnatul Arz,” have intensified tensions in Balochistan. Referring to recent events in Panjgur, he said that if the Pakistani army can assassinate twenty Baloch individuals in a single city like Panjgur, then international institutions and human rights organizations should not question the actions of Baloch fighters if the conflict spreads beyond Balochistan.
He stated that Baloch fighters are sacrificing their lives for their culture, identity and homeland, adding that defending their lost freedom is a legitimate right. Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch further criticized the international community and sections of the Punjabi intelligentsia, accusing them of remaining silent over the ongoing Baloch genocide.
According to him, the Baloch leadership is closely observing the policies of international actors and what he described as their alliance with the Pakistani military establishment. He said that until now the armed struggle has largely remained confined to Balochistan, but warned that if the situation continues and repression persists, the theater of conflict could be forced to shift toward the heart of Punjab.
Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch concluded that the direction of the conflict will depend on the policies adopted by the Pakistani state and the response of the international community to the situation in Balochistan.
