KABUL: Pakistan has reportedly carried out fresh airstrikes inside Afghanistan, targeting multiple locations including the capital Kabul as well as the provinces of Kandahar and Nangarhar, according to statements from the Taliban administration and local sources.

The spokesperson for the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that Pakistani aircraft violated Afghan airspace and carried out an airstrike on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul. He stated that several individuals undergoing treatment at the facility were killed and others injured as a result of the strike.

Condemning the attack, Mujahid said the incident represents a serious violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty and international norms. He described the strike as an act that goes against accepted humanitarian principles and called on the international community to take notice of the incident.

Meanwhile, sources in Kabul reported that the strikes may also have targeted several government-related locations in the city, including the Arg presidential palace, the Ministry of Defense, and Marshal Fahim National Defense University.

Reports further indicated that airstrikes were also carried out in the southern province of Kandahar and the eastern province of Nangarhar, though detailed information regarding casualties or damage in those areas has not yet been confirmed.

The developments come amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both sides previously exchanging accusations over cross-border attacks and security concerns along the frontier.
