QUETTA: Central leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, Dr. Sabiha Baloch, has said that keeping a political leader imprisoned for years in cases where no crime has been proven is contrary to both legal principles and the fundamental requirements of justice.
In a statement, she said that the release of Ali Wazir should be viewed as an important step toward the supremacy of law and the protection of constitutional rights. She emphasized that prolonged detention of political figures under unproven or weak charges undermines public trust in the justice system and contradicts the principles of due process.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch expressed hope that members of the judiciary would continue to prioritize the constitution and the rule of law while ensuring fair trials and justice. She also called for a fair review of cases against several detained political activists, including Mahrang Baloch, Iman Mazari, Hadi, Beebow Baloch, Shah Ji Sibghatullah, Gulzadi Baloch, and Bebarg Zehri, urging authorities to resolve what she described as baseless cases and ensure their release in accordance with the law.
She also congratulated Ali Wazir, his family, and members of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement on his release.
