QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,088th consecutive day outside the Quetta Press Club.
The camp was led by VBMP Executive Committee member Niaz Muhammad. During the protest, activist Comrade Manzoor Baloch visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of disappeared persons and supported their demands.
On the occasion, the mother and young daughter of disappeared Mahmood Ali Langov also participated in the protest, demanding his safe recovery. The family stated that they have repeatedly approached government institutions and relevant authorities while continuing peaceful demonstrations, but have yet to receive justice.
They said that Mahmood Ali Lango’s continued disappearance has caused severe mental distress to the family and appealed to senior authorities for his immediate recovery.
Meanwhile, families from the Khudabadan area of Panjgur also contacted the organization, stating that Owais, son of Muhammad Yar, and Bakhtiar and Bilal, sons of Haji Muhammad Hassan, were taken into custody during pre-dawn raids. According to relatives, personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other agencies detained them and shifted them to undisclosed locations.
It is worth noting that the body of Owais Ahmed Baloch, who was detained during a security operation in Panjgur, was recovered today, family members and local sources confirmed.
Family members said that no search warrants were presented and that they were not informed of the reasons for the arrests. They further stated that no information has been provided about their whereabouts.
VBMP leader Niaz Muhammad demanded that Mahmood Ali Lango and all other disappeared persons be brought before the public immediately. He emphasized that if any charges exist, they should be produced before a court of law and granted their right to due process, stating that detaining citizens outside the legal framework constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights.
