QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,047th day in front of the Quetta Press Club under the leadership of the organization’s Chairman, Nasrullah Baloch.
On this occasion, people from various walks of life visited the protest camp and expressed solidarity with the families of the missing persons. They demanded an end to enforced disappearances and the recovery of all missing individuals.
Meanwhile, the family members of forcibly disappeared Nasreen participated in the protest and provided details of Nasreen’s enforced disappearance to VBMP. They complained that Nasreen, a resident of Awaran, was detained by personnel of the FC, CTD and other state institutions near Daru Khan Hotel, Hub Chowki, after which she was forcibly disappeared.
They stated that in their pursuit of justice, they contacted the relevant police station several times to register an FIR regarding Nasreen’s enforced disappearance, but the SHO refused to register the case. The family said that neither is the FIR being registered nor is the administration providing them with any information about Nasreen, due to which they are under severe mental stress.
VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured the family that Nasreen’s case would be submitted at the organizational level to the commission, the government and that her safe recovery would be raised on every possible forum.
Nasrullah Baloch demanded that senior authorities take notice of the enforced disappearance of Nasreen Baloch and other Baloch women. He stated that if there are any allegations against Baloch women, they should be brought before the public and presented in courts of law, and if they are innocent, their immediate release should be ensured to spare their families a lifetime of suffering.
