BERLIN: Speaking at a seminar organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) in Berlin to commemorate Baloch Martyrs’ Day on November 13, Safia Baloch, Vice President of BNM Germany, paid rich tribute to those who laid down their lives for the freedom and dignity of Balochistan.

Addressing the gathering, Safia Baloch said the occasion was not one of silence or sorrow but of strength, pride and remembrance. “We have gathered to honor those who sacrificed their lives not for power or fame, but for the freedom of their nation and the dignity of their homeland,” she said.

She described November 13 as a deeply emotional and meaningful day, reminding every Baloch of the courage, pain and sacrifice that define their collective struggle. “We do not only remember on this day, we renew our pledge,” she said. “We reaffirm that your sacrifice was not in vain. Your dream of a free, just, and dignified Balochistan is still alive through us.”

Quoting an inspirational saying, Safia Baloch added, “You can kill the dreamer, but you can never kill the dream.”

Paying homage to the martyrs, she said countless men and women teachers, poets, students and farmers chose sacrifice over surrender and death over silence, standing courageously against oppression. “They faced prisons, torture and bullets, yet never abandoned their dream of a free and peaceful Balochistan,” she said. “They became the voice of the voiceless, the light in the darkness, the heartbeat of a nation that refuses to die.”

She reminded attendees that the martyrs’ courage continues to inspire generations. “Their blood still flows in our veins; their bravery echoes in every corner of our land. Our duty is not merely to remember them, but to continue what they began.”

Concluding her address, Safia Baloch recited her poem “They Live Through Us,” dedicated to those who left their homes for the sake of the homeland and embraced death for a life of dignity.
