PARIS: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has strongly condemned the European tour of a delegation from the Balochistan Provincial Assembly, describing the officials as a fake group selected by the Pakistani army, not true representatives of the Baloch nation.
According to the BNM, the delegation, led by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Khan and provincial ministers Saleem Ahmed, Sadiq Umrani, and others, is complicit in Baloch genocide, war crimes and ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan and its visit aims to propagate Pakistan’s narrative abroad while concealing the state’s repression at home.
The delegation’s itinerary includes Berlin, Germany, Paris, France, and Rome, Italy, concluding on November 2. Pakistan has described the trip as a routine parliamentary engagement.
The BNM accused the officials of being products of a manipulated and unrepresentative electoral system and urged European governments, particularly France, Germany and Italy, to challenge the delegation on crimes against humanity rather than legitimise Pakistan’s propaganda.
The organisation also highlighted persistent reports of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and systematic silencing of dissent in Balochistan, asserting that the touring officials “do not speak for the Baloch nation” but serve to legitimise Pakistan’s continued colonial control over the province.
